Rules

The XVII. Screening Dates of the Television Workshop Development Politics present international Film-, Video and Televisionproductions, which perform a development related contribution, which means deals with themes of the One World and Agenda 21.

Organizer is the Television Workshop Development Politics.

The screening takes place from the 29th June to 2nd July 2003 in the Evangelical Academy Arnoldshain, the public presentation of awards 7th - 8th November 2003 in Bonn.

Film-, Video and Televisionproductions can be registered for the Screening

a) those which were either completed after 01.01.2000 (applies for foreign productions and co-productions); or which were completed after 01.01.2001 (applies for domestic productions).

b) those which have a development political orientation, that means deals with the themes of the One World or the Agenda 21.

c) those which either have to be availabe for the non-commercial area, or can be made available.

Films of every genre to the theme Development, One World, Agenda 21 can be submitted. There are no restrictions to the filmlenght. 

Every filmmaker can at the most send three films for registration.

A selected commission of the steering committee of the XVII. Television Workshop decides according to the above criteria about the acceptance in the official programme of the Screening Days. We reserve the right of exceptions.

The registrated persons and institutes will be immediately informed by the organizers about the acceptance in the programme. Productions which are not shown in the official programme of the Screening Days, shall, after consultation with the registrant, be made available to interested guests in a special video room.

A jury at the Screening Days will evaluate the submitted productions according the following criteria:

a) Nomination based upon the aspect of the development related education and public work

b) Nomination based upon the aspect of purchased oriented recommendation

In total the jury shall prepare a recommendation list which shall also include the points of quality. This list will be made public. The recommended films will be shown in autumn 2003 during a special presentation in Bonn and in different cities in NRW.

Registered films and videos for the Screening Days have to arrive by the 7th May 2003

The documents for the returnpost (especially for foreign films re-entry documents for the land of production, which are demanded by the costums authorities) have to, without exceptions, accompany the delivery.  

Informations of all registered films will be published (Internet, print).

The registration should already include a short catalogue text as well as a foto from the film.

Films which are not in german or english language, have to be accompanied by a dialogue list composed in one of these languages.

By the registration, all rights are relinguished to the organizer of the Television Workshop Development Politics for the screening before experts and special audiences. Thereby the organizer assumes no costs nor obligations.

The submitted film- and video-productions have to be insured by the participants.

The return delivery of the material will be executed by 25th July 2003. The organizer assumes the return delivery costs.

Above all, questions pertaining to these guidelines, as well as in the event of uncertainties, which are not mentioned in these rules, the directing committee of the Television Workshop, decides. Jurisdiction is Hamburg.

The registration to the Screening days of the XVII. Television Workshop Development Politis is at the same time the acceptance of these rules.
